Job description

The senior research fellow will conduct postdoctoral research (own publications and contribution to common research projects), particularly in the field of public in­ter­na­tio­nal law (including international and European human rights law), global go­ver­nance, and European Union law and comparative constitutional law. Teaching at the law faculty of the University of Heidelberg (mainly in German language) can be arranged in consultation with the faculty. The position is open to candidates in­ter­es­ted in acquiring a postdoctoral academic qualification in form of a postdoctoral thesis (or a German Habilitation) or other publications; further details are subject to agreement.

Work environment

We offer outstanding conditions to undertake foundational legal research, and a very conducive work climate in an international team. English and German are used both as working languages and for publications.

Requirements

The applicants are required to have completed or be in the process of completing an advanced degree in law (Dr. iur.) or an equivalent academic qualification, and to be fully proficient in English (in written and oral); further language skills are of advantage.

Conditions

The position is initially opened for the period of one year and will normally be pro­longed regularly. The salary and social benefits are provided according to the Ta­rif­ver­trag für den öffentlichen Dienst (TVöD-Bund). The position is full-time or part-time (19.5 hrs./wk.).
