The Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering is world-leading in design education and research, integrating design knowledge about people, technology and business into solutions that are desirable, feasible and viable. The Faculty consists of 25 full Professors, 120 faculty members, 120 PhD students and about 2000 Bachelor and Master students. Job description
The Department of Design Engineering focuses on applying responsive technologies such as Cyber Physical Systems and Emerging Materials on the development and design of new products and services, and is part of the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.
Transforming emerging technologies into evolving design engineering is not only a scientific challenge but also an essential part of the education of future designers. At the Department of Design Engineering we invite applicants and nominations for the position of Professor of Practice (0,4 FTE) in Product Architecture Design (m/f). Successful candidates are committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and are expected to have a clear vision on the development of design education in line with the Faculty’s strategy. The Professor of Practice will mainly focus on the Bachelor’s education programme.
Requirements
Applicants have an outstanding reputation and professional track record in design or design engineering practice. Our ideal candidate is strongly embedded in the design field and/or industry, where he or she will maintain a position for the remaining time. We are looking for a part-time Professor of Practice who can inspire people, is keen on working in multidisciplinary teams, and who reaches out to and collaborates with colleagues, both within the university and in industry partnerships. We welcome people who through their professional experience, management skills, and teaching qualities can inspire co-workers and students alike. Conditions of employment
The position offered is a temporary position for a period of five years.
