postdoctoral Researcher

Job description

You offer substantive support to the ERC CoG project iBias by developing your own postdoctoral research project in one of the following domains (or a combination of these domains):
the Europeanization of national interest groups from an organization theoretical perspective
interest representation toward international organizations (such as WTO or the UN Climate Conferences)
the influence of interest groups in Belgian politics (federal and regional)
We expect you to contribute to teaching and the overall research activities (such as lunch seminars or workshops) of ACIM.
You will compete to obtain externally funded research grants.

Profile and requirements

You hold a PhD in one of the social sciences (Political Science, Sociology or Communication Sciences). Also candidates with degrees in related disciplines (such as Economics, Law or History) can apply if their profile fits with the requirements listed below.
You have already published in highly respected political science journals and you have experience with presenting your research at international conferences.
Your research interests are complementary or overlap with the research program of ACIM. Check our website for more details (www.acim.ua.ac.be).
You have a sound theoretical background, plus a considerable interest in and familiarity with quantitative research techniques is an important requirement.
You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative. You are a flexible team-player.

We offer

An appointment as a postdoctoral assistant for a period of one year, with a possibility of renewal for a further two-year period after positive evaluation.
A full time gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.896,31 - € 6.074,02.
The start date is October 2014.

A five-page proposal for a postdoctoral project outlining your research in terms of design, theoretical puzzle, methods and publication strategy;
