The position, which is connected to the Research Group "Nanopatterned Organic Matrices in Biological Silica Mineralization", concerns investigations in the topic of the chemical, electronic, and structural properties of silicic acid and its interaction with organic components. The position will start at the earliest possible date and entails 66 % of the fulltime weekly hours limited for 3 years for PhD Students or 100 % of the fulltime weekly hours limited for 2 years for Postdocs. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Acts (WissZeitVG). Applicants are required to have an excellent university or PhD degree in materials science or natural science and are expected to have expertise in quantum chemical and density-functional based software.
