focus on the following broad areas:

Programming Languages and Software Engineering: Language design and implementation, testing and debugging, compilers, domain-specific languages, dynamic languages
Theory: Algorithms, complexity, logic and semantics
Cyber-physical Systems: Smart environments, robotics, virtual/augmented reality, internet of things
Data Science: Machine learning, artificial intelligence, datamanagement, database systems, data privacy

arrowApplications of candidates with exceptional research accomplishments will also be considered for a tenured associate or full professorship. Please only apply for one of the above four areas as all applications will be jointly reviewed.

arrowApplicants should be strongly rooted in Computer Science, have internationally recognised expertise in their field and pursue research at the forefront of Computer Science. Successful candidates should establish and lead a strong research programme. Collaboration in research and teaching is expected, both within the department and with other groups of ETH Zurich and related institutions. The new professor will be expected to supervise doctoral students as well as to teach undergraduate level courses (English or German) and graduate level courses (English).
