The German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE) Potsdam-Rehbrücke is an independent foundation and member of the Leibniz Association, an alliance of scientific institutions. PhD students
In the group Epigenetics of Adiposity in the department Experimental Diabetology
Tasks:
Analysis of expression and methylation patterns in animal models
Molecular characterization of novel signaling pathways in tissue culture experiments
Execution of intervention studies in diabetic mice
Skills and requirements:
Excellent M.Sc. (or equivalent) in a biomedical research field
Preexisting knowledge in molecular biology and genetics
Practical experience in standard molecular biology methods (cloning, qPCR, analysis of gene expression), protein analysis (western blotting, enzyme kinetics), and cell culture
Willingness to perform animal experiments
Excellent data analysis and presentation abilities (MS Office, statistics)
We are expecting applicants with a high degree of motivation, ability to team work, autonomy, excellent skills in English (written and spoken) and the willingness to work in an interactive research environment.
The institute offers excellent working conditions in an interactive and multidisciplinary research environment, with state-of-the-art equipment, qualified training and enrolment in a local PhD program. PhD position will be paid according to the terms of the civil service collective bargaining act (TV-L 50 % of level E13).
