The Kiel Institute for the World Economy is one of the leading and most reputed economic research institutes in Germany. Position for a Postdoc Researcher
The successful candidate will contribute to the general profile of the Research Area, where recent research has focused on firm level analyses of trade, FDI and offshoring; management practices and firm performance; and labour market effects of globalisation.
Applicants should hold a recent Ph.D. in economics and should pursue research in empirical or theoretical aspects of international trade or related relevant fields. We expect a strong and proven quantitative background, and experience in the acquisition, handling and processing of research data. Besides publishing in high quality academic journals applicants should also have some interest in disseminating research to policy makers. Excellent language skills in English are mandatory for this position; skills in German would be useful.
Being internationally renowned in research and policy consulting, the Kiel Institute for the World Economy provides excellent support to potential candidates who are interested in developing their career in research. The position is initially for two years but may subsequently be extended. Salary is determined according to the salary scheme of the German public sector (EG14 TV-L). The position is full-time; part-time employment is possible.
