Research assistant (Postdoc) in primary aldosteronism (m/f)

Applications are invited for a Postdoc to work at the Endocrine Research Labs of the Medical Department IV/University of Munich on the transregional CRC/TRR 205 „The Adrenal: Central Relay in Health and Disease” funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). In a unique effort top level researchers and doctors of the University Hospitals of Munich, Dresden and Würzburg will promote the understanding of humoral and molecular mechanisms of adrenal diseases and develop improved diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

In particular the Postdoc position involves:
Functional studies of mouse models established from a mutagenesis screen for primary aldosteronism
Molecular profiling of tissue samples
Genetic characterization following exome sequencing
In vitro experiments for mechanistic evaluation of candidate genes
Preparation of publications and lectures
Exposure to a vibrant scientific environment with multiple collaborative bonds to researchers from the whole SFB consortium
Conditions of employment are:
Veterinarian Doctor (m/f), alternatively PhD (m/f), preferably in biology, pharmacology, biochemistry and related disciplines with a strong commitment to research
Prior active involvement and strong experience in small animal studies
Good experience in standard molecular techniques including cloning, site-directed muta­genesis
Cell culture skills and immunohistochemistry
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and fluency in English
Open-minded, self-motivated and able to work independently in national and inter­natio­nal translational research
