The Max Planck Unit for the Science of Pathogens (to be established)
of Max Planck Director Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier is seeking a
for a full-time employment (39 hours/week) of initially 2 years.

Job description:
Our department is looking for highly motivated postdoctoral candidate(s) with strong background in RNA biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology or biochemistry work on one of the following topics:
CRISPR-Cas biology
RNA-mediated regulatory circuits
Host/S. pyogenes interactions (innate immunity/vesicles)
Clp-mediated proteolysis
Toxin-antitoxin systems
The successful candidate(s) will participate in fundamental research questions on one of these topics. As a central member of the group, the candidate(s) has excellent communication and organization skills, will be able to work both individually and collaboratively within the small network and will take part in supervising students. The candidate(s) is ambitious, creative and motivated to contribute to and extends the research agenda of the unit with own ideas.
PhD in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related fields
Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology microbiology and/or genome editing will be considered as an advantage.
An excellent record of publications in highly respected international scientific journals
Ability to work in a highly competitive field of research
Ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of an international team and multidisciplinary consortia, lead projects related to the offered topics
Excellent organisational and coordination skills, structured with personal initiative
Perfect English communication skills (written and spoken)
The candidate must have a profound interest in all research topics of the Department.
Experience abroad is considered as an advantage.

According to the training, qualifications and professional experience, the remuneration can be up to EG 14 TVöD-Bund. The benefits correspond to the regulations of the public service.
